PECAN ROOT BEER / PAPA JOE: Distinct pecan and praline notes add a degree of complexity and originality to this naturally flavored Root Beer sweetened by real Louisiana cane sugar. While Root Beer originally gained popularity during prohibition, our unique recipe was inspired by and named for King Joe Oliver, jazz pioneer from the brothels and bars of New Orleans
Louis Armstrong called Oliver"Papa Joe" and said that he was moreinfluenced by Joe Oliver than by any other musician. Born on a plantation in Abends, LA, Oliver started playing in Storyville at a young age. Originally inspired by the trumpet playing of Buddy Bolden, Oliver's imaginative use of mutes, cups, and bottles allowed him to producethe completely innovative sounds thatwould be copied the world over.
